Geelong Football Umpires League - November 2007
The Geelong Football Umpires League (GFUL) installed the UMAS system prior to the commencement of the 2007 to
replace the old UMPMAN system which had become outdated and was therefore unable to provide us with the level of
management control and processes that are so necessary in today’s modern technological era.
The basic system was installed in December 2006 and throughout the 2007 season, was constantly rebuilt and
enhanced to suit our specific needs to such an extent that it is now the single most important asset we have within
our umpiring group, apart from our umpires of course. With Andrew Little’s expert guidance
and advice, there is no element of day to day umpiring management that cannot be built into the UMAS system to suit
any umpiring groups specific needs and requirements and the back-up support and guidance provided by Andrew is
second to none.
The initial cost for purchasing and installing the system was extremely modest by today’s standards and the
advantages provided by the system and its back-up support, make the cost almost irrelevant.
The GFUL therefore, have absolutely no hesitation in strongly recommending the UMAS System to any other
prospective umpiring groups who are considering installing the system as it has proved to be a truly great
management tool for the GFUL during its first year of installation.

Southern Umpires Association - October 2006
Dear Andrew
I feel that I must write to you to thank you for developing the UMAS software program.
I have personally found this program to be simple and easy to use whilst being able to provide
instant access to all data regarding individual umpires, whether it be game information, pay related issues or
personal data. In addition the ability to have remote access to our associations database means that I can work
from the comfort of my own home at times that suits me, without necessarily having to go down to the rooms to
access the information sought.
As a comparison last year it would take 4-5 hours over a couple of days to get ready to process the
fortnightly pays, whilst this year I have been able to reduce this time frame down to 2-3 hours per fortnight and
that leaves me more time to attend to other financial issues within the association.
Record keeping has been streamlined by the creation of multiple pages within which we can store a
myriad of information relating to our umpires and this is also a major time saver. We can literally at the press of
a few mouse buttons provide any umpire with a printed list of all match payments as well as any deductions that
have been taken from match payments.
Again thank you for developing this program as it has been a godsend for us.
